During the Korean War, a US army engineer, Lt. Sam Pryor (Victor Mature), volunteers his platoon to escort Greek troops to perform a mission behind enemy lines. However, when cowardice is displayed by the Greek and his platoon is almost annihilated, a delicate alliance is formed and the real objective of the enemy is learned.
