Before the feature starts, here’s what to know.
Buying physical media should feel simple: pick the movie, know what format you’re getting, and trust that it will be packed and shipped with care.
Cinema Classics has served movie collectors since the mail-order catalog days. These answers cover the details customers ask most often, from region codes and slipcovers to shipping times, special orders, and why buying from a specialist still matters.
No used discs. No mystery condition surprises.
Formats, regions, slipcovers, and availability matter here.
We pack orders with more care than mass-volume sellers.
Looking for an official release we don’t list? Ask us.
Are your items new or used?
Cinema Classics sells new items only. We do not sell used DVDs or Blu-rays.
That matters because collectors should know exactly what they are getting. When you order from us, you are not gambling on a random used copy, scratched disc, rental case, missing insert, or vague marketplace condition note.
Will your DVDs and Blu-rays play on my player?
As a North American seller, most of our items are in the standard U.S. format. For DVDs, that usually means Region 0 or Region 1. For Blu-rays, that usually means Region A.
If an item is in a different format, we identify that in the product title and description. You may see listings such as:
- Region 2 PAL DVD
- Region B Blu-ray
When a title requires a multi-region player, the description will say so. Please check the format before ordering, especially when buying imports or international releases.
Does the item come with a slipcover?
If an item includes a slipcover, we say so in the title, such as Blu-ray with Slipcover.
Items generally arrive from the manufacturer in excellent condition. If a slipcover or case is damaged, that usually happens during shipping somewhere between the seller and the customer. If we ever sell anything in less-than-standard condition, we note that directly in the product description.
Because of the number of titles we handle and the time required to process orders quickly, we are not able to send extra photos of individual slipcovers or packaging.
What is your best price on an item?
We list items at the lowest price we can while still providing the kind of service collectors expect: accurate listings, careful packing, and reliable shipping.
You may occasionally see a title listed cheaper somewhere else, but there is often a tradeoff. High-volume sellers may ship in plain envelopes with little protection or use slower economy services that pass between multiple carriers before reaching the post office.
Cinema Classics focuses on doing it right: fair pricing, better care, quicker handling, and real customer service.
Do you take checks or money orders?
Yes. Customers who prefer to order by mail may use a check or money order made out to Cinema Classics.
Money order purchases can usually be processed once received. Checks may take a few days to clear before the order ships.
Because mailing details can change, please use the current order form or contact us before mailing payment if you are unsure.
How long will it take to get my order?
We stock most of what appears on the site. If your order includes items marked out of stock along with in-stock items, the order will ship when all items are ready.
Most orders are shipped by USPS. Small nearby orders may go First-Class, while most orders ship by Media Mail. West Coast delivery can sometimes take around 7 to 10 days once shipped.
In many cases, orders go out quickly. If a title needs to come in first, it should not add a long delay.
It has been over two weeks. Is my order lost?
True lost packages are rare, but delays can happen. Weather, local postal issues, holidays, and carrier routing can all slow down a package even after it leaves our hands.
If your order appears delayed, give the tracking a little time to update. If the package truly appears lost, contact us and we will help resolve it.
I just received a disc and it won’t play. What should I do?
Defective discs are uncommon, but they can happen with any manufacturer. Before assuming a disc is defective, please check the region and format first, especially with imports.
If the disc is the correct format for your player and still will not play, refer to our return policy or contact us with your order details.
There’s a movie I want that you’re not listing. Can you get it?
In many cases, yes. We can get most official releases, so if you are hunting for a title and do not see it listed, please ask.
We will let you know whether it is available, what the price would be, and how long it should take to get.
This is where buying from a specialist helps. We know collectors are often looking for a specific edition, label, format, or release.
Do you charge now or when the items ship?
Orders are charged at checkout. In the past, Cinema Classics charged only when items shipped, but modern online shopping cart systems process payment when the order is placed.
In most cases, orders are sent the same day or next day when the items are in stock and ready.
Do you still have a printed catalog?
We do not print catalogs anymore. There are simply too many new titles, reissues, imports, boutique-label releases, and availability changes to keep a printed catalog accurate.
The website is now the catalog, and it updates far more often than a printed mailer ever could.
How do I contact Cinema Classics?
The best way to reach us is by email or through the contact page. We answer most inquiries within 24 hours.
If your question is about an existing order, include your order number so we can look it up quickly. If you are asking about a title we do not currently list, include the title, format, and any edition details you are looking for.
